What Do We Do from Here?

Hey Fam!! Welcome back!!!

Last week, we did some gardening. Hopefully, it was as fulfilling for you as it was for me. The hardest part of gardening, however, is the waiting game. No one likes to wait forever to see the results of their labor. It’s the same with anything. You’ve been dating a guy for so long, now you are ready for marriage, but you can’t rush it. You started a new educational avenue; 2 semesters in you're ready to be done. It seems like with everything we do we want to hurry the process along; unfortunately, that is not how life works.

We’ve started our herb garden, now what? What do we do from here?

Well, we wait!! There are many things you can do to fill your time while you are waiting.

1. Workout

2. Meal prepping

3. Read a book

4. Continue to incorporate self-care habits

While we are waiting for our plants to start growing, we can certainly do other daily activities to keep us motivated and fill the gap of time.

I tend to always go towards a good book or working out. These are things that help me mentally and physically.

No matter what, we should always incorporate healthy habits into our daily regimen and not get discouraged. As I have been working out daily, I have noticed that I am not losing the weight, but rather gaining it. I almost got discouraged. Until I realized, I'm developing muscle. I took a closer look at myself and thought, hey, I am trimming down. My clothes that were once too tight actually fit, who cares what the scale says, I LOOK GREAT!!!

You see, you have to take the small wins and have a little patience. Nothing happens overnight.

You’re probably wondering, what does this have to do with developing and maintaining healthy habits. Well, the healthy habit this week is PATIENCE. All too often we set ourselves up for failure because we have no patience. We rush, things don’t turn out the way we want, then we end up giving up and putting ourselves back into the same rut we were trying to get out of.

Whether it is gardening, school, work, getting fit, etc. – we must have patience. Be sure to make that one of your healthy habits each day. When you think something is going as planned or as quick as you want, just take a step back and look for the small wins. When you see the small wins, you know you are on the right track, and all you need is a little bit more patience.

PATIENCE!! PATIENCE!! PATIENCE!!
